This site has been still for a while.

Over the past months, I’ve stepped away from traditional social media and taken time to refocus — both creatively and personally.

Lately, I’ve been sharing music through live streams and more intimate sessions, and I’ll continue to do so on YouTube — a space where the focus stays on the music.

New piano sessions and original recordings are on the way, including a solo piano EP of Klezmer tunes and Yiddish songs — “Gershon” 🎹

This year also marks 40 years at the piano — music continues to be my sanctuary.

I’m looking forward to performing live again in San Francisco — the Classic/Modern trio returns to Keys Jazz Bistro on April 22 🎹 with Dwight Augustin 🎻 and Al Marshall 🥁. One show only. (A livestream will also be available.)

More live dates are coming, including performances in Los Angeles this June with Luca Alemanno 🎻 and Jaz Sawyer 🥁, including a show at Sam First on June 25.

Bird and Beckett San Francisco live pianoStarting in June, Grant Levin will lead a concert series every second, third and fourth Sundays of each month. 

These will take place in the evening from 7:30-9:30 pm, with a $10-15 cover at Bird & Beckett Books and Records, 653 Chenery Street in San Francisco’s Glen Park. 1-415-586-3733

June 11: Grant Levin Duo with Giulio Xavier, bass
June 18: Grant Levin Trio w/Giulio Xavier, bass, and Jeff Minnieweather, drums
June 25: Grant Levin Quartet w/Francis Vanek, sax; Chris Amberger, bass; Jeff Minnieweather, drums

Jazz club! every 2nd Saturday night, 7:30-10 pm, Grant Levin leads the band at Bird & Beckett Books and Records in San Francisco’s Glen Park.
